Glenway Gate Multi-Family Development

Calgary, AB – 2010

Glenway Gate Multi-Family Development is a residential mixed use facility in Calgary.  The landscape design of the former church site was completed by Lombard North Group and includes two patio gathering areas with seating and raised planters for the residents.  The screened activity spaces also incorporate two large dry ponds, which address storm water management on site while also being a functional gathering space during non-storm conditions.

New Brighton Regional Athletic Park

Calgary, AB – Current

Lombard North Group is currently working with The City of Calgary Recreation Department on the design and construction of New Brighton Regional Athletic Park.  During the master planning stage, public consultation was an integral process that influenced the design process. When completed, this recreational facility will include four rectangular fields, one baseball diamond, a change room / washroom pavilion, regional pathway connections, space for future additional amenity development and a location for public art.

Strathmore Ball Fields

Strathmore, AB – 2009

The site for the Strathmore Ball Field, located next to an existing wetland area, posed many challenges.  By utilizing best management practices to address wetland compensation, habitat management and wetland buffers, Lombard North Group was able to develop a number of conceptual plans that successfully addressed the Town’s wishes. The final development plan selected for future development by the Town, was a compilation of options which ultimately featured a full sized parking lot, concession buildings, an off-leash dog park area, competition quality junior baseball diamonds and a feature field, all of which comply with NCAA Tournament Standards.

Country Hills Golf Club

Calgary, AB – 2004

Golfplan Associates provided ongoing golf course architectural consulting services to the Club for the development and renovation of new entrance features and signage, long range planning, Board and Membership presentations, and the detail design and implementation of renovations to existing course facilities including improvements to Holes #2, 3 and 17.

Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club

Calgary, AB – 2014

Golfplan Associates is currently involved in the design and development of a sod rehabilitation and bunker enhancement program for Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club.  Working closely with the executive board at Canyon Meadows, Golfplan Associates has developed a rehabilitation and bunker enhancement program that will renovate 12 bunker complexes, 15 tee boxes, grading and drainage repairs, and the installation of over 10 000m2 new premium sod to the front nine play area.

Pinebrook Golf & Country Club

Calgary, AB – 2001

Golfplan Associates was retained by Pinebrook Golf & Country Club as the Golf Course Architect of record for the long range planning, design and renovation of the course.  Acting as Prime Consultant, Golfplan Associates was responsible for stakeholder engagements, master planning, design development, costing, Board and Membership presentations, tendering, and project management of course renovations that included all aspects of:  tree inventory and assessments, golf hole renovations and improvements, fairway grading, green and tee re-developments, bunker upgrades, sod replacement, drainage treatments, pond redevelopments, cart path extensions, cart storage facilities, entry signage and club house landscaping.

Jayman Building

Calgary, AB – 2006

Lombard North Group was responsible for the landscape design of two Jayman  corporate offices located in Calgary and Edmonton.  The design includes a variety of ornamental plant material and a detailed paving pattern specifically chosen to enhance the entrance of the building.

West LRT Extension

Calgary, AB – 2011

The West LRT project involved an eight kilometer extension of light rail transit service from 7 Ave S.W.  to 69 St. S.W. providing a convenient and efficient link to Calgary’s downtown core.  Lombard North Group, working with a team of local architects and engineers, provided landscape architectural services for the conceptual and detailed design of all urban design components of the project including: detailed inventories of existing landscape elements, community interface and landscape rehabilitation planning, design development of all public spaces associated with six new stations, stakeholder consultations, and public presentations of the new transit line and its proposed hard and soft landscape treatments.  Final design development of these concepts were completed and implemented by the Design Build contractor.

Bahamas

Bahamas – 2001

Commissioned directly by the Government of the Bahamas, Lombard North Group provided consulting services for the master planning and development of public spaces, road corridors, schools, and recreational sites in Nassau and throughout the Bahamas.  Projects included restoration of areas damaged by Hurricane Floyd; new memorial park and playground developments; restoration plans for the historic Fort Montagu Park on Nassau’s inner harbour; development and upgrading of interpretative walks, leisure areas and pedestrian pathways on the Western Esplanade; and the upgrading and improvements to numerous government sites and schools on New Providence, (Nassau), Eleuthera, and Abaco islands.

Maple Ridge Golf Course

Golfplan Associates was responsible for the golf related planning, design, and construction reviews associated with the renovation of Holes #7, 8 and 9 on the City of Calgary’s Maple Ridge Golf Course.  Working in conjunction with The City’s Water Resources group as part of an inner city storm water management improvement project, Golfplan assisted with the integration of a new storm water management facility on the golf course lands.  This required the shaping and redevelopment of three fairways, development and integration of a new pond and water feature, redevelopment of tees, cart path upgrades, and new pond edge treatments.
