Overview of Restorations and Storm Water Improvements

Lombard North Group has been involved in a wide range of restoration projects in municipal, provincial and national parks. In these cases, where natural landscapes were disturbed, we have provided consultation services to restore the areas to blend with surrounding conditions. We are combining those restoration projects with storm water ponds and improvements, which help to improve water quality and and depending on the needs of the client and the project may be designed to blend with the surrounding environment. We’ve completed storm water management projects for residential communities, multi-family complexes, golf courses, municipalities and national parks.

Overview of Recreation Development

Elbow River Pedestrian Bridge Replacements

Calgary – 2015

During the 2013 flood, three pedestrian bridges were damaged and washed away. Lombard North Group, in collaboration with Delcan (now Parsons), provided landscape architectural services for the landscape concepts, design, development and implementation of new pedestrian bridges over the Elbow River.

Covenant Care Holy Cross Manor

Calgary, AB – 2014

Covenant Care Holy Cross Manor is three building complex of supportive living centres located in Evanston, Calgary.  Lombard North Group collaborated with Ferrari Westwood Babits Architects to design a landscape space that would enhance the lives of the residents and visitors.  The landscape design included entry feature planting to create a sense of arrival, comfortable shaded plaza spaces with garden like planting and ample seating areas, pathway connections to neighbouring parks, accessible pathways around the Manor, and a safe and secure therapeutic garden for Alzheimer’s patients.

Wyndham-Carseland Day Use Area Restoration

Wyndham-Carseland Provincial Park, Alberta – 2015

Following the flood of 2013, Alberta Parks began a complete restoration program for the entire Wyndham-Carseland Provincial Park.  Lombard North Group was retained for the landscape design and construction management services of the day use area which included re-building the roads and parking areas, clean-up of existing vegetation, replacing damaged infrastructure, installing new picnic areas, pathways, perimeter fencing, and restoring the sanitary dump station.
