Community and Residential Development Overview

Lombard North Group has been involved in the planning and design of landscape amenities in a variety of subdivision communities and multi-family throughout western Canada.

Covenant Care Holy Cross Manor

Calgary, AB – 2014

Covenant Care Holy Cross Manor is three building complex of supportive living centres located in Evanston, Calgary.  Lombard North Group collaborated with Ferrari Westwood Babits Architects to design a landscape space that would enhance the lives of the residents and visitors.  The landscape design included entry feature planting to create a sense of arrival, comfortable shaded plaza spaces with garden like planting and ample seating areas, pathway connections to neighbouring parks, accessible pathways around the Manor, and a safe and secure therapeutic garden for Alzheimer’s patients.

Copperwood at Coalbanks Landing

Lethbridge, AB – 2006

The residential community of Copperwood at Coalbanks Landing is a Copperwood Land Corp. development located in West Lethbridge. Lombard North Group provided landscape architectural services for the design and implementation of community landscape features for the first three development phases including entry features, decorative fencing, boulevard treatments, municipal parks, trail systems, and a storm water management dry pond facility.

Hillsboro Multi-Family Development

Lombard North provided landscape architectural services for the Hillsboro Multi-Family Development. Undulating greenspaces include trails, viewpoints and plaza spaces.

Glenway Gate Multi-Family Development

Calgary, AB – 2010

Glenway Gate Multi-Family Development is a residential mixed use facility in Calgary.  The landscape design of the former church site was completed by Lombard North Group and includes two patio gathering areas with seating and raised planters for the residents.  The screened activity spaces also incorporate two large dry ponds, which address storm water management on site while also being a functional gathering space during non-storm conditions.

Paradise Canyon

Lethbridge, AB – 2006

Paradise Pointe is a Melcor Developments Ltd community located in Paradise Canyon, west Lethbridge. This development offers large building lots adjacent to an environmental reserve with striking panoramic views of the Oldman River Valley and the skyline of the downtown. Lombard North Group was responsible for the design and development of entry features, ornamental fencing, pathways, site landscaping, and the first accessible playground in Lethbridge.

Uplands

Lethbridge, AB – 2006

The Uplands Community is a First National Properties Group residential community located in the northwest quadrant of Lethbridge, Alberta. This community is characterized by a large central stormwater pond complete with pedestrian pathways, a large island, decorative fencing, pedestrian bridges and a playground area. Lombard North Group’s role in the design and development of the community included the entry feature, municipal reserves, park space, playground development, pathway routing, and boulevard landscaping.

New Brighton Community

Calgary, AB – Current

New Brighton is a Brookfield Residential Community located in the Southeast quadrant of Calgary. Since 2007, Lombard North Group has been involved in the design of a various landscape features in New Brighton including naturalized storm ponds, canals, sports fields, entry features, view points, boulevards, lot plantings, local and regional trail systems, tot lots, and accessible playgrounds.

Cranston Community

Calgary, AB – 2008

Cranston is a Brookfield Residential community located in the southeast quadrant of Calgary, along the banks of the Bow River. Adjacent to Fish Creek Provincial Park, Cranston provides sweeping views of the Rocky Mountains and direct access to a regional network of pedestrian pathways. Lombard North provided services for the design and development all community elements including entry features, boulevards, linear parks, pedestrian connectivity, school sites and playgrounds. There is also a large area of environmental reserves along the embankment, some of which required careful construction and restoration processes.
