Cypress Hills Provincial Park Campground Upgrades

Medicine Hat Region – 2007

Cypress Hills Provincial Park is located 80 kilometers southeast of Medicine Hat Alberta and has a long-standing history of recreational use. After years of intense use, many of the facilities in the park were in need of repair and improvement in order to respond to changing needs and interests of the public.  Lombard North was commissioned to undertake a detailed assessment of existing facilities and infrastructure within six campgrounds located near the Elkwater Townsite, and to prepare long range plans for their improvement.  Working with that assessment and Parks staff, Lombard North developed a detailed long range master plan for the phased upgrade of existing campgrounds and day use facilities, and the construction of new campground loops, trails, and infrastructure.
