The Huntington Hills Superstore, is a Loblaw project located in Calgary’s Northwest. It is a commercial infill project that included the development of a new grocery store, gas bar, liquor store and separate commercial retail space (CRU’s). The use of bio swales, paving patterns, xeriscaping and pedestrian connections create an aesthetically pleasing and functional commercial space within an established community. In addition to the main commercial area landscape treatments, a small seating area and plaza space was created to provide a seasonal outdoor amenity for the separate CRU’s. The design of the plaza considered pedestrian traffic and sun/ shade patterns to maximize use by tenants and guests.
